What to Expect From Periodontal Appointments at Viruet Periodontics

Your first periodontal appointment typically lasts about one-and-a-half hours. The visit begins with a detailed review of your medical and dental health history, followed by a comprehensive periodontal evaluation. Dr. Reyes-Viruet will assess signs of gum disease, including bone loss, loose teeth, bite concerns, TMJ function, and perform an oral cancer screening.

After the examination, Dr. Reyes-Viruet will provide a diagnosis regarding your gum health and discuss treatment options tailored to your needs. She takes extra time to ensure every patient understands their condition and feels confident about their treatment plan.

To help your visit go as smoothly as possible, please bring the following:

  • A list of any medications you are currently taking
  • Your dental insurance information
  • Completed patient forms, or arrive 30 minutes early to complete them in the office

Having these items prepared will help make your first visit as efficient and comfortable as possible. If you need to reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
